Dr. Carrie Benson joined the Sawgrass Veterinary Center team in December 2020. After graduating from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, she was a general practitioner in the Central Florida area. Early in 2015, she decided to relocate back to South Florida where she grew up in order to be closer to family.
Dr. Benson’s professional interests include general soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and pet rescue efforts. She has been a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association since graduation. Dr. Benson is excited to have joined the SVC team and wants to continue practicing quality and compassionate veterinary care.
“As a child, I especially enjoyed science and math classes in school, and my family has had a bit of a menagerie of pets throughout the years. Put these two things together, and you get someone who loves animals and has the desire to care for them medically. I wouldn’t have chosen another career! It is my hope to help clients have happy, rewarding, and responsible relationships with their pets for many years,” said Dr. Benson.
Like Trisha, Morgan is a Florida native who has worked with animals since she was a kid who started her own neighborhood pet-sitting business. Lucky for us Morgan branched into veterinary practice, although she still pet sits as well. Morgan is a skilled technician as well as a social media whiz and we’re so glad to have her.
Trisha was born and raised in Florida. She has been working in veterinary medicine ever since 2007, where she worked her way up from kennel assistant to practice manager. She has a corgi named Faith and a horse named Godiva, and she loves to ride in her spare time. Trisha is extremely knowledgeable and conscientious, we are so very fortunate to have her on our team.
